Earlier this year, the iconic restaurant concept “where every day is St. Paddy’s Day” tapped California businessman Narender Taneja to lead its resurgence in the Golden State. With a resumé boasting 35 years in the hospitality industry, Taneja has a broad array of experience when it comes to managing and operating franchises, both in the dining and hotel industries.

“This is great news for the city of Santa Clara, and with the new Levi’s Stadium just a mile away, we are poised for success and ready to serve the area that helped make Bennigan’s one of the top restaurant brands on the west coast,” said Taneja.

Taneja directed a complete overhaul of the Santa Clara restaurant, which necessitated closing the facility for nearly three months. Notable upgrades include the chain’s newly introduced exterior design and signage prototypes, along with contemporary features such as new furniture, flooring, a comfortable outdoor dining and lounge area complete with couch seating and fire pit, 14 flat screen televisions, 20 beers on tap and more.

“At Bennigan’s, we’re dedicated to delivering memorable dining experiences to every guest, every meal, every day,” said Anshul Taneja, managing director of development for the Santa Clara restaurant. “We’re proud of our newly redesigned restaurant and we can’t wait to show it off to everyone in and around Santa Clara.”

The re-opening marks the Tanejas’ first step toward introducing several new Bennigan’s restaurants to the Golden State over the next 10 years, including two in nearby cities that are currently in late-stage negotiations.

“I couldn’t be more pleased with the way Narender has taken the initiative not only to bring the Santa Clara Bennigan’s up to world-class standards, but how he has mapped out his plans for growth throughout the state,” said Mangiamele. “Obviously, California is a hugely important market for a global brand like ours, and with agreements to double the size of the Bennigan’s brand and the re-introduction of Steak and Ale, we are poised to return to our rightful place as leaders in the casual dining segment.”

Hours of operation for the Santa Clara Bennigan’s are 11 a.m. – 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 11 a.m. to Midnight Friday and Saturday. For a complete menu and more information, visit Bennigans.com.
